As far as career advancement, there is no where to go aside from supervisor, or maybe practice manager, but even then, most hospitals now want someone with a Bachelor's degree for upper management. ****BUT**** When a vet has to decide between expensive, trained people, and a high school kid off the street he can pay minimum wage, he's sorely tempted to go cheap. I agree, RVT isn't worth it, you don't earn any respect for it and will never pay off those student loans. Maybe it's because working at the veterinary clinic is the place where they feel they have the most power in their lives.
